11 dead in Indonesian boat accidents

Jakarta: At least 11 people were killed Thursday in two separate boat accidents on Indonesia’s main island of Java, officials said.

Five others were reported missing in the waters of a vast archipelago that relies heavily on boat transport but has a poor safety record.
