BEIJING: A 10-year-old boy who threw an SOS sign out the window because he was bored to be locked in at home in southwest China on New Year’s Eve sparked a police search in case somebody was in danger, according to a newspaper report.

The boy living in Chongqing had seen similar ploys in movies when people wanted to attract help so he drew the SOS sign on a piece of cloth and threw it outside as he wanted to go out and play with other children, the Chongqing Morning News reported.
