Man drowns near Pasir Bogak Beach in Pangkor


IPOH: A 21-year-old man drowned in the sea near Pasir Bogak Beach on Pangkor Island.

Perak Fire and Rescue Department operations centre officer-in-charge Mohammad Zamri Awang Long said the man was found about 7m from the beach on Saturday (Sept 30) at about 3.30pm.

"The victim was playing in the waters before he was found drowned at an estimated depth of 3m.

"Health Ministry personnel have tried to resuscitate the victim using cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) before sending him to the Pangkor health clinic where he was pronounced dead," he said in a statement.

"The operations ended at about 3.55pm," he added.
