Elderly woman found dead on Johor beach


JOHOR BARU: The body of a 74-year-old woman was found on the Stulang beach at Jalan Sultan Ibrahim here.

Larkin Fire and Rescue Department operation commander Syuhaidy Fazli Yahaya said they received a call from the police at 11.27am on Wednesday (Sept 22) regarding the matter.

The deceased, he said, was identified as Tham Foong Seong @ Ng Siew Leng and was found on the shore.

"Members of the public who had spotted the body informed the police about it.

"The police then requested help from the department to transport the body," he said in a statement here.

The body had been handed over to the police for further action.
