Woman, 78, survives massive bee attack

A 78-YEAR-OLD woman is in stable condition after being stung by hundreds of bees outside her home in Kampung Guchil, Kuala Krai, reported Sinar Harian.

The victim’s son, Mohd Rizal Yusoff, 40, said his mother, Hasmah Mamat, was sweeping rubbish at the front yard at 8.30am when the incident happened.

Mohd Rizal said Hasmah who has bad eye sight saw black spots which she thought was a spider’s nest.

“The moment my mother swept the nest, hundreds of bees attacked and stung her.

“She managed to run for about 20m to a relative’s house to seek help,” he said.

He said his mother’s cousin, Azizah Ali, 70 and her daughter had brought his mother to the Kuala Krai Hospital for treatment.

“Her condition is stable after the doctors removed the stings.

“My mother survived and can speak but she is still being treated in the hospital,” he said.
