KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Chief Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal (pic) has denied claims there was a "private deal" made with Yang di-Pertua Negeri Tun Juhar Mahiruddin to lift the two-term limit for the state governor.

The Parti Warisan Sabah said that his appointment as chief minister on May 10 was because he was declared to have commanded majority support of the house after the assemblymen were interviewed by the Governor.
