The MCA deputy president said that the Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia youth chief's claim was "just another political gimmick" that often emerges when a general election draws near.
"I would read it as an entertainment news. Very entertaining," he told reporters after launching the "Digital Transformation @ Take your business to greater heights" workshop here.
"If this young man has the evidence, he should just report it to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) and the authorities," said Dr Wee who is also a Minister in the Prime Minister's Department.
In GEORGE TOWN, Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng likewise urged Syed Saddiq to lodge a report with the MACC.
Lim, who is the Pakatan Harapan deputy president, said Syed Saddiq should make a report as required by law.
"Under the law, you are required to go lodge a report with the MACC," he said at a press conference at Komtar Tuesday.
On Monday, Syed Saddiq claimed during a press conference that he was offered RM5mil to leave the country, and that his family had been harassed.
He said he had decided to defer his Masters in Public Policy at Oxford University in Britain for the coming academic year.
