Shafie Apdal ready to assist MACC in investigation on MARA deal

PETALING JAYA: Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal (pic) is ready to assist the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission in its investigation into transactions carried out by Mara Incorporated Sdn Bhd (Mara Inc).

In a statement on Thursday, the Semporna MP said that the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) had asked him to assist investigations over transactions that took place during his tenure as rural and regional development minister.

Mara is an agency under his former ministry.

"I am compelled to collaborate with MACC," said Shafie, who is also the Parti Warisan Sabah president.

"At the same time, I would appreciate it if I am informed early so that I can prepare for it," he added.
