JOHOR BARU: Johor's Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar (pic) has asked the police to stop investigations over the case of a man who allegedly insulted state royalty via a video posted on Facebook.
State police chief Comm Datuk Seri Wan Ahmad Najmuddim Mohd said Sultan Ibrahim had said that his son, Johor Crown Prince Tunku Ismail, did not want to prolong the case.
"We are deeply touched by His Highness's decree," he said in a press statement released here on Sunday.
Comm Wan Ahmad added police investigations found that the suspect had been manipulated by certain quarters when he posted the video.
He advised the public to refrain from making offensive videos and false statements which could destabilise the peace and harmony in the country or humiliate others.
