PETALING JAYA: The 1Malaysia People’s Aid (BR1M) this year will be distributed from Feb 18 onwards, says Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.

The Prime Minister made the announcement after receiving many queries regarding the cash assistance on his social media accounts.

“I see many people are asking about BR1M on my Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram pages.

“I’m happy to announce that, God willing, BR1M will be distributed starting Feb 18. Hopefully it is helpful,” he said in a Facebook post, Friday.

When tabling Budget 2017 last October, Najib announced that the amount of BR1M assistance would be increased for all categories.

Households in the e-Kasih database with a monthly income below RM3,000 will see their BR1M increased to RM1,200 from RM1,050 and RM1,000.

For households earning between RM3,000 and RM4,000, BR1M will be increased from RM800 to RM900.

Meanwhile, unmarried individuals earning below RM2,000 monthly will enjoy an increase in assistance from RM400 to RM450.
