Ministers call for probe into billionaire’s funding of local NGOs

Soros: ‘The next crisis is coming from the opposite direction.’

KUALA LUMPUR: The information that hedge fund billionaire George Soros is funding Bersih, Merdeka Centre and Malaysiakini must be investigated, Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said.

Dr Ahmad Zahid, who is also Home Minister, said it was not a question of “who was funded” or “why”, but more of a question of foreign involvement in national po­litics.
