Bangladeshi worker crushed to death at Kahang Dam construction site

KLUANG: A Bangladeshi national was killed after he was crushed by a compactor at the Kahang dam construction site at Jalan Felda Kahang Timur, Batu 9, Jalan Mersing-Kluang.

Kluang OCPD Asst Comm Mohamad Laham said the victim, a general worker at the construction site, succumbed to severe head injuries after he was crushed by the machine.

"The victim was resting at the machine at around 4.30pm on Sunday when the incident happened.

"The operator did not notice the victim when he started to move the machine and crushed him to death," said ACP Mohamad Laham, adding that the operator fled the scene.

"We are investigating the case under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for reckless driving," he added.
