PETALING JAYA: A 29-year-old Sudanese man was found dead near the swimming pool of a condominium in Kota Damansara after falling from the 19th floor.
OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Zani Che Din said the private college student was identified as Ahmed Abdalla Mohamed Ali.
"We were alerted of the incident at 7.40pm Monday. When we arrived there, we found the victim's body sprawled near the pool at the condominium's Block D.
"He was pronounced dead by a medical team," he said.
Ahmad Abdalla's friend, Moumin, told police that the victim had come to visit at 4pm.
"According to the friend, the victim said he was hungry and that he wanted someone to talk to.
"While the friend was cooking, he heard the victim talking to himself at the balcony. After a few minutes, the victim went silent.
"That prompted the friend to check. To his surprise, his friend had fallen off the balcony," ACP Mohd Zani said.
Checks by police found no foul play in the case.
Police were also notified that the Information Technology student was believed to be mentally unstable.
"We were told that the victim had been talking to himself a lot lately," ACP Mohd Zani said.
The body was sent to the Sungai Buloh Hospital for post-mortem.
