IGP denies cops received money

PUTRAJAYA: Police have denied having received the RM12mil raised to secure the release of four Sarawakian sailors.

Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Abu Bakar Khalid said if any payment was made to release the hostages, it was done by the family without the involvement of the police, reiterating that police would not co-operate with any groups to pay ransoms.
