KTMB: Three passengers sustained minor injuries, all evacuated

PETALING JAYA: In a statement, Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) said that three passengers had sustained minor injuries in Saturday afternoon’s crash while all other passengers were evacuated from the area by bus.

According to the company, the incident occurred at 1.45pm at KM322.

The crash involved an Express Rakyat train travelling from Butterworth to Johor Baru and an ETS train from Kuala Lumpur to Ipoh.

KTMB corporate communications manager Siti Badariah Wan Hanafi said in a statement on Saturday afternoon that several KTM services will face disruption following the incident.

"The KTM commuter service between Rawang and Tanjung Malim is cancelled.

“All ETS services will end at the Rawang train station and passengers will continue their journey on bus or otherwise," she said.

KTMB said that the cause of the accident is still being investigated and will continue to give updates on the situation.
