Totally destroyed: Passers-by looking at the charred buses at the RapidKL depot in Seri Kembangan.

SERI KEMBANGAN: A fire broke out at the RapidKL depot, destroying at least six buses and damaging three.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant operations director Mohd Sani Harul said they were alerted to the incident at about 11.29pm.

“We despatched two fire engines and 12 firemen from Serdang and Kajang.

“They arrived several minutes later and found nine buses on fire,” he said.

He said the fire was brought under control within about 90 minutes and was completely put out by 2am.

“No one was injured in the incident and the cause of the fire is still being investigated,” he said.

Kajang deputy OCPD Supt Abdul Ghani Mohamad Ji said police investigations have ruled out arson.

“Further inspection also showed that the buses were not in operation anymore,” he said.
