Wanita PKR annoyed by "Rawang Move"

PETALING JAYA: Wanita PKR is annoyed by rumours that there are plans to remove Selangor menteri besar Azmin Ali through the "Rawang Move".

It is claimed that the "Rawang Move" is aimed at replacing Azmin with PKR's newest member, Datuk Saifuddin Abdullah, as Selangor menteri besar.

It is believed that the Rawang assembly seat will be vacated to enable a by-election to pave the way for Saifuddin to replace Azmin.

Wanita PKR chief Zuraida Kamaruddin said that Wanita PKR is certain that Saifuddin did not join PKR to split the party, but to strengthen it instead.

"It is because he (Saifuddin) believes in our cause and is willing to fight alongside the reformist team," said Zuraida in a statement on Saturday.

She said that Rawang MP Gan Pei Nei already rubbished the "Rawang Move" and that the only move in store is the "Pekan Move".

"All these curiosity about the removal of Azmin Ali was brought about by the sudden joining of a rather reputable Umno member who also happens to be a former member of parliament," said Zuraida who is also Ampang MP.

She said that this has irritated Umno members and caused them to create gossip to "make themselves feel better".

"We hope that UMNO cybertroopers will stop wasting people's time on unfounded gossip and look into the country's economic situation instead," said Zuraida.

"Diverting people's attention away from the 1MDB scandal and the RM2.6bil donation will not solve our country's woes.

"Selangor under the stewardship of Azmin Ali will continue to progress in leaps and bounds," she said.
