Kedah UPP foils attempt to smuggle beer

The beer was valued at about RM22,000.
BUKIT KAYU HITAM: The Kedah Anti Smuggling Unit (UPP) seized a Mitsubishi Pajero used in the smuggling of 150 crates of canned  beer and arrested a man in his forties here.

The seizure was made at 6.45am on Monday behind Ladang Rakyat and the Black Forest Golf & Country Club near the Malaysia-Thai border.

The beer was valued at about RM22,000.

The case will be referred to the Customs department for further action under Section 135(1)(e) of the Customs Act 1967.
