50 charitable homes get RM1mil from Genting Group

GENTING HIGHLANDS: Genting Group on Sunday donated RM1mil to 50 charitable homes.

Genting Group chairman and chief executive officer Tan Sri Lim Kok Thay said the move was in line with the group's corporate culture of caring for the less fortunate in the community.

Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin presented cheques of RM20,000 each to the representatives from the various charities, which included orphanages, old folks homes and the disabled, at the Chinese New Year luncheon organised by the group here.

Also present were Muhyiddin's wife Puan Sri Noorainee Abdul Rahman, Lim's wife Puan Sri Cecilia Lim, Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Dr Wee Ka Siong, Genting Berhad's executive director Tun Mohammed Hanif Omar and wife Toh Puan Hamidah Abdul Hamid.
