Abide by price control scheme, traders warned


GEORGE TOWN: Traders have been warned to abide by the price control scheme, which is in effect now for 12 days during the Chinese New Year period, or face a hefty fine and possibly jail term as well.

Deputy Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Bashah Md Hanipah said offenders could be fined up to RM100,000, or jailed not more than three years or both upon conviction.
