THE Government has urged seven states to immediately impose the requirement for new buildings to have rainwater harvesting systems in order to reduce the need for treated water.
Urban Wellbeing, Housing and Local Government Deputy Minister Datuk Halimah Mohd Sadique said so far, only Perak, Selangor, Johor, Malacca, Kelantan and Perlis had gazetted by-laws that made it compulsory for rainwater collection system to be installed.
