KOTA KINABALU: A group of VAT 69 commandos stopped a group of seven or eight armed intruders from backing up their compatriots during a shootout between security forces and Sulu gunmen in Lahad Datu last year.

Police VAT 69 spotter Kpl Badin Anak Senow, 33, told the High Court here yesterday that he and his team saw the gunmen running towards the area where the gunfire was heard.
