Ahmad Zahid denies return to ISA as new crime laws tabled in Parliament

KUALA LUMPUR: Sweeping new criminal laws covering marital rape, sexual offences, unrecognised honorary awards, vandalism and possession of illegal weapons and explosives are being tabled in Parliament Wednesday.

Amendments to the Prevention of Crime Act 1959 were also being tabled and Home Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has denied that these would be akin to the repealed Internal Security ACT (ISA), which allowed detention without trial.
