The local music industry has evolved over the decades, providing both opportunities and challenges to veteran and aspiring artistes.

IT was three years ago when turban-clad acoustic guitar-player Yuna, with her distinct voice and good looks, burst into the Malaysian music scene. She won song-of-the-year award at the 2009 Anugerah Industri Malaysia for Dan Sebenarnya, a song she herself wrote.
