Sarawakians and politicians are more vocal these days about state’s rights


SARAWAKIAN politicians from the Barisan Nasional component parties were quick to shoot down the claim by Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Asyraf Dusuki that the Barisan coalition has agreed to classify Malaysia as an Islamic country.

The top leaders of Sarawak United Peoples Party (SUPP) and Sarawak Progressive Democratic Party (SPDP) were swift to support the stance by MCA that Barisan had never made any decision to change the country’s status of being a secular nation.
