Sweet chapters of yesteryear

The New World Park’s original wall reminds people of its glorious past where the Lido and Globe cinemas once stood. It was also the venue for trade fairs, boxing matches, amusement games and girlie shows by striptease queen Rose Chan.

I BECAME ‘Spider-Man’ by scaling walls to avoid paying a 25-cents entrance fee at the old New World Park in Swatow Lane, Penang.

However, I did not wear a Spider-Man attire as I was just a mischievous teenager out to explore new adventures.
