Articial reefs a boost for fishermen

KUANTAN: Twenty-three cuboid artificial reefs worth RM278,600 will be anchored in Kuantan waters to increase the fish population in order to boost fishermen's income.

Pahang Rural Development, Agriculture and Agro-based Industry Committee chairman Datuk Shafik Fauzan Sharif said the artificial reefs will be placed off the coast of Kampung Chempaka, Pantai Sepat and Cherok Palok at a distance of five nautical miles.
