AS IPOH is now poised to receive international attention from tourists from around the world, locals are saying that much needs to be done by the authorities to improve the city’s tourism industry.

With the city’s recent inclusion in Lonely Planet’s Best in Asia list, people interviewed by MetroPerak said they are hoping to see various amenities made better. Lonely Planet, the world’s largest travel guide book publisher, picked Ipoh as the number six place in Asia for travellers to visit in the next 12 months.
