Separate your waste or face RM250 fine

A RM250 fine would be imposed on the Management Corporation (MC) or Joint Management Body (JMB) of high-rise buildings, or individuals of landed housing areas when a by-law allowing enforcement to be taken for failing to separate waste at source comes into effect in June next year.

Penang Island City Council (MBPP)’s Licensing and Public Health Standing Committee alternate chairman Ong Ah Teong said the regulations under the Local Government Act 1976 — Separation of Waste and Licensing of Recyclable Waste Collection Services (City Council of Penang Island) By-Laws 2016 has been agreed upon.
