Families head to waterfall to cool off

Many took shelter from the heat at the Kiansom waterfall.

KOTA KINABALU: Crowds thronged the popular Kionsom waterfall picnic spot near here to seek temporary respite from the sweltering heat.

Picnickers began heading to the waterfall at the foothills of the Crocker Range, some 18km from here, as early as 8am.
