KUANTAN: Continued bauxite mining during the rainy season could lead to a repeat of 2013's disastrous flooding here, which displaced more than 30,000 people, said Kuantan MP Fuziah Salleh.

She said bauxite mining left large plots of land devoid of vegetation and open to erosion, with red soil washed into rivers.
