Sequel to the Cronut: The Chocolate Chip Cookie Milk Shot.
The man behind the Cronut craze last year has come up with a new why-didn’t-I-think-of-that mash-up dessert that could take 2014 by storm.
Dominique Ansel, a New York-based pastry chef whose croissant-slash-donut creation, the Cronut, rode the forefront of a wave of mash-up foods in 2013, has announced the debut of his latest food mash-up, the Chocolate Chip Cookie Milk Shot, at South by Southwest (SXSW) Interactive in Austin, Texas this weekend.
Although not as concisely named as his more famous pastry, the ‘Cookie Shot’ has the same whimsical yet homely and endearing quality that made the Cronut such a sensation. The idea is simple but ingenious. The cookie is baked in the shape of a shot glass and the milk is poured into its hollow before it’s served.
Ansel celebrated ahead of the public unveiling of his latest offering by posting a photo of it on his Instagram account on Wednesday. The photo has already got more than 2,000 likes.
