The Tao of dining

What happens when a curious cook meets Confucius? We get a new dining philosophy.

I USED to like kidding people that I was Catholic, at least until the priest tried to stab me during a confession. In reality, I am of course, languidly agnostic though I am a little fond of ancient philosophers like Lao Tzu. And so, as often happens in my mind, I thought it might be a little funky to write about modern dining using the tenets of the Tao Te Ching. Actually, I had another idea at about the same time, which was making up simple slogans for T-shirts like: “Beware – I’m A Black Belt in Origami” or “I Beat Anorexia” (only in XXL sizes) – but that’s another story.
