Bina Puri bags RM251.5m job for Gemas-JB electric rail

The rail company said its performance was achieved in spite of the constraints from the Klang Valley Double Track System and Infrastructure Upgrading Project Phase 1 track rehabilitation project.

KUALA LUMPUR: Bina Puri Holdings Bhd has accepted a RM251.53mil contract for the electrified double track from Gemas to Johor Bahru.

The construction company said on Tuesdy its unit  Bina Puri Builder Sdn Bhd had accepted the letter of award from Syarikat Pembenaan Yeoh Tiong Lay Sdn Bhd.

Bina Puri said an unincorporated joint venture, Bina Puri-Tim Sekata JV would undertake and complete the sub-contract for the project.

“The sub-contract works are expected to be completed by 30 April 2020,” it said.

With the latest award mentioned above, the group’s unbuilt book order stands at RM1.145bil as at to date.

Bina Puri said this group anticipated this year to be challenging for the construction and property sectors and hoped the roll out of projects as announced in the Budget 2019 could be expedited.

It expected the project to contribute positively to the net assets and earnings of Bina Puri Group for the financial year ending Dec 31, 2019.
