Gabungan AQRS bags RM1.2b LRT3 job

KUALA LUMPUR: Gabungan AQRS Bhd has clinched a RM1.21bil Light Rail Transit Line 3 (LRT3) construction contract from Prasarana Malaysia Bhd.

It is one of three listed companies that announced on Thursday they have won contracts for construction works for LRT3, which stretches 37km from Bandar Utama, Petaling Jaya, to Johan Setia, Klang.

Gabungan AQRS told Bursa Malaysia that its unit Gabungan Strategik Sdn Bhd received the letter of award on Wednesday to undertake the construction of guideway, stations, and park and ride facilities.

The project is for a period of 38 months, it said.

With the latest win, Gabungan AQRS’s outstanding order book as at to-date rises to RM2.6bil.

Sunway Construction Group Bhd secured a RM2.31bil contract for construction works from Bandar Utama to Johan Setia (36-month project), while WCT Holdings Bhd RM678.4mil from Bandar Utama to Johan Setia.

All the figures are inclusive of goods and services tax.
