Institutional investors can exercise rights in addressing governance issues

KUALA LUMPUR: Institutional shareholders can exercise their rights in addressing issues concerning corporate governance in listed companies, according to Retirement Fund Inc (KWAP).

While Malaysia has its fair share of corporate governance problems, KWAP chief executive officer Datuk Wan Kamaruzaman Wan said it was pertinent for institutional investors such as KWAP, Khazanah Nasional Bhd and the Employees Provident Fund to play their roles as active shareholders in listed companies.
