Benalec sees 5.79% stake traded off-market

KUALA LUMPUR: Construction company Benalec Holdings Bhd saw 47 million of its shares traded in an off-market deal on Monday at an average price of 45 sen.

Stock market data showed the shares accounted for a 5.79% stake based on its paid-up of 811.80 million shares.

At 45 sen, this was 11.5 sen below Friday's closing price of 56.5 sen.

Benalec's share price close up 1.5 sen to 58 sen.

It posted a weaker set of earnings in the first half ended Dec 31, 2016. Earnings fell to RM7.19mil from RM7.71mil in the previous corresonding period.

The weaker earnings were most due to the decline in the second quarter where earnings fell to RM1.57mil from RM6.48mil a year ago.

Its net asset per share was 78 sen.
