Time for Sime spin-off?

Malaysian Sime Darby, Japan's Mitsubishi Corporation, Tokyu Land and Hong Kong Land have also signed deals in Jakarta and surrounding areas.

Sime Darby Bhd’s potential spin-off – at the behest of its major shareholder Permodalan Nasional Bhd (PNB) – could see the listing of its plantation, automotive, and property divisions, each of which is major player in its own right.

The RM55bil behemoth, which is the fourth largest public-listed group in the country, is a prime target for PNB’s strategic blueprint for the next five years.
