Oil ends down but off lows, then slides on API report


Recruiters warn that many jobs may not return even when the tentative recovery gains momentum.

U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude settled down 19 cents at $46.67. During the session, it fell as low as $46.20, its lowest since Sept. 28. After the API report, it fell to $46.27.
