Maybank Islamic eyes 27% rise in Petronas Ikhwan Visa Card-i membership

KUALA LUMPUR: Maybank Islamic Bhd eyes a 27% increase in its Maybank Islamic Petronas Ikhwan Visa Card-i membership to 73,000 in the next 12 months following the card’s newly-enhanced features. 

Chief executive officer Datuk Mohamed Rafique Merican said the bank currently had 57,559 Ikhwan Visa card members. 

“We expect this refreshed Maybank Islamic Petronas Ikhwan Visa Card-i will further strengthen our position as the leading credit card issuer in the Islamic segment,” he told reporters after launching the enhanced card in Kuala Lumpur on Tuesday. 

Maybank Islamic on Tuesday announced its collaboration with Petronas Dagangan Bhd (PDB) to introduce an improved feature for the Maybank Islamic Petronas Ikhwan Visa card-i, making it more competitive while offering customers better benefits. 

With the newly enhanced card, card members can now enjoy 8% cash back for weekend spending at Petronas stations and 1% cash back when they spend on weekdays, capped at RM50 a month. 

Adding more value to the card, members will be also be rewarded with 1X TreatsPoints for other retail spending. 

Besides the enhanced feature, Maybank Islamic-PDM runs a two-month campaign beginning on Tuesday, allowing card members to win 88 weekly prizes of 8,888 Mesra points when making total transactions of RM200 per week at any retail outlet, with at least RM50 spent at Petronas stations. 

During the same period, card members also have the chance to win 88 bonus prizes of 88,888 Mesra points each when they spend a total of RM1,000 at any retail outlet with a minimum amount of RM200 at Petronas stations.
