KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia Packaging Industry Bhd (Maypak) has requested that the trading in its shares be suspended with effect from 4:23pm on Thursday pending an announcement of a corporate proposal involving “the major shareholder.”
The packaging specialist’s major shareholders are both based in Japan: container manufacturer Toyo Seikan Co Ltd (54.95% equity interest) and printing ink maknufacturer DIC Corp (10%).
The company had posted annual losses in the last three financial years.
Maypak was suspended at 45 sen on Thursday.
