KUALA LUMPUR: Cosmetics firm L’Oreal Malaysia Sdn Bhd has appointed Malek Bekdache as managing director effective May 1.

The company said in a statement that with over 17 years of experience, Malek had held several positions at executive levels within L’Oréal group.

He joined the L’Oréal group in 1996. After successive marketing positions in France, he returned to Lebanon where he established a coordination office for the group in the Middle East.

In January 2000, Malek was appointed general manager of the consumer product division in Dubai before being selected as head of the same division in Lebanon.
