CIMB sees uptrend in consumer banking


New tie-up: CIMB expects the cross-partnership with Tesco to boost the number of its card members by another 500,000.

PETALING JAYA: CIMB Group Holdings Bhd is confident of a pick-up in its consumer banking business in the second half of the year, in spite of the challenging economic outlook.

CIMB Group consumer banking chief executive officer Renzo Viegas said he expected loans growth to be slower, compared with last year as consumers remained cautious.
