WCT clinches RM134mil police quarters project


KUALA LUMPUR: WCT Holdings Bhd has received a RM133.93mil contract from Mass Rapid Transit Corp Sdn Bhd to re-develop the police quarters in Taman Keramat, Kuala Lumpur, into a 20-storey police quarters comprising 300 units and a five-storey of podium carpark.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, it said its unit WCT Bhd’s scope of works included demolishing the existing two blocks of five-storey building and building a block with 300 units of Police Quarters Class F, carpark and amenities such as multi-purpose hall, shops and surau. 

Under the 28-month project, WCT will also undertake external and infrastructure works including landscape, pedestrian linkages services, road and road signage, security fencing and earthwork.

“The contract is expected to contribute positively to thegGroup’s future earnings and net assets,” it said.

WCT shares closed unchanged on Thursday at RM1.69, with 1.772 million shares changing hands.
