Pharmaceutical product maker CCM Duopharma Biotech Bhd is investing RM140.8mil to construct a new state-of-the-art plant and warehouse in Klang to meet the current operational demand and to expand into specialty products. Production capacity will increase by 40% to 50% following the plant’s completion, projected to be by end-2018. Read more

Electronic manufacturing services firm VS Industry Bhd has subscribed to 12.1% equity interest in London-listed vehicle operator monitoring technology firm Seeing Machines Ltd for £6.74mil (RM38.6mil). Read more

Pharmaniaga Bhd has increased its shareholding in PT Errita Pharma, which makes and sells pharmaceutical products in Indonesia, from 75% to 85% by paying US$2.4mil (RM9.62mil) and 6.683 billion rupiah (RM2.03mil) to vendor PT Dasar Technologi.

Astro Malaysia Holdings Bhd’s net profit for its fourth quarter ended Jan 31, 2016 jumped 47% to RM203.77mil from RM139.97mil in the previous corresponding period. This was mainly due to an increase in earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation (EBITDA) of RM27mil and a lower net finance cost of RM30mil. Read more

Packaging firm Scientex Bhd reported a net profit of RM64.6mil in the second quarter for the financial period ended July 31, 2016 (FY16), or a 79% increase from RM36.05mil over the same period last year. Read more

Sentoria Group Bhd announced two contract wins -- a RM90mil job to build about 800 units of houses on 75 acres of Government land in Kuantan by March 2020 and a RM20mil deal to build a 128-unit apartment block in Sepang by March 2019.
