Barakah wins Sarawak gas pipeline contract

KUALA LUMPUR: Barakah Offshore Petroleum Bhd has received a contract to install two gas pipelines under the Petronas Carigali-operated Baram Delta Gas Gathering Project 2 (Bardegg 2) and Baronia enhanced oil recovery project offshore Miri, Sarawak.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the oil and gas service provider said its wholly-owned subsidiary company, PBJV Group Sdn Bhd, had received the 2016 work scope for the “Transportation and Installation Of Offshore Facilities for Year 2014-2016”.

It said the two projects under the work scope were the 43km Bardegg and Baronia 24-inch pipeline from the TTJT-A wellhead platform to the Baronia B central processing platform (BNCPP-B) (tentative installation date is March 2016) and the 125km Bardegg and Baronia 24-inch pipeline from DNCPP-B to the E11RC platform (tentative installation date is May 2016).

Barakah did not provide the estimated value of the contract, saying that “the total value of the work scope will depend the duration of the work and costs related to project management team, and engineering, materials, services, engineering and other related services.”

In June last year, Malaysia Marine and Heavy Engineering Holdings Bhd announced the win of RM324mil worth of contracts including the fabrication of substructures and bridge for the Baronia B central processing platform.

Barakah shares gained 4.5 sen to close at 75 sen on Friday.
