SAMSUNG has finally taken the wraps off its Galaxy Alpha smartphone, its sleekest Android smartphone yet.
The Alpha, like the upcoming Galaxy Note 4, features a metal frame that runs along the side of the device. Although the back cover is still plastic, it’s soft to the touch and provides a better grip.
It has a 4.7in HD Super Amoled display that’s sharp and stunning.
Running on the latest Android (KitKat), the Alpha comes with a redesigned TouchWiz interface that looks cleaner and less cluttered than previous versions.
On the inside, it has an octa-core processor which is actually two quad-core processors sandwiched together. This should make it a capable device for multitasking, especially when using the MultiWindow feature to run two apps at once.
It has cool features such as a heart rate sensor, fingerprint scanner to secure the device, and Ultra Power Saving mode which turns the display into monochrome to extend battery life.
The Alpha is no slouch when it comes to picture quality, as it packs a 12-megapixel camera on the back and has a HDR (high dynamic range) mode to capture images with greater dynamic range and luminosity.
The Galaxy Alpha is available now for RM1,899.
