We did not consent to dam construction, says Baram People Action Committee

MIRI: The Baram People Action Committee that represents the 20,000 population to be uprooted by the construction of the RM 4bil Baram Dam on Monday said they have never given any consent to the Sarawak state government to proceed with construction of the mega dam that will drown 400 sq km of forests.

Its chairman Philip Jau told reporters here that the Baram people to be affected by the project deplore the manner in which the state government is bulldozing through with the project.
