Eight killed, 21 injured after tour bus overturns and catches fire

IPOH: Eight people died while 21 were injured after a tour bus overturned and caught fire at KM326 of the North-South Expressway in Tapah.

Two others managed to escape unhurt in the 1.22am incident on Thursday.

Some of the remains recovered from the wreckage. 

The bus belonging to LBS Travel and Tours was on its way from Kerian in Perak  to Genting Highlands.

It was believed the bus hit a tyre on the road causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle.

The bus then collided with car before overturning and burst into flames.

The bodies were burnt beyond recognition and their MyKad were destroyed in fire.

Among the dead is the driver of the bus.

The Injured being treated at the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital and several private hospitals in Ipoh.
