'Language programmes will yield results'


KUALA LUMPUR: The results of the programmes and initiatives introduced in the policy to Uphold Bahasa Malaysia and to Strengthen the English Language (MBMMBI) can only be seen in the next five years, said Education Minister II Datuk Seri Idris Jusoh.

Idris said many programmes and initiatives to strengthen the proficiency of the English language among teachers and students, especially those in rural areas, had been rolled out under the MBMMBI policy but the results were not instantaneous.
